Prairie Fruits Farm and Creamery offers guided, educational tours. Guests of all ages can enjoy the farm on a more in-depth level. Meet the goats, view the milking parlor and creamery, walk through the orchard and garden, and taste some of our farmstead products. Cheese and gelato are a great way to wrap up the hour long tour.
In the spring, visitors can see the new-born baby goats, the first blooms on the fruit trees, and the small plants in the garden. Throughout the summer, the vegetables will be growing and the goat kids will have grown up a bit too! You may also get to pick some peaches or berries. The fall brings the bees to the prairie goldenrod, and the goats are getting ready for breeding season.
The cost of the tours is $5 for children and students and $8 for adults. For groups of children, 1 adult per 10 children will be free of charge. We have an $80 group minimum, regardless of the number in your party.
If your group is interested in purchasing lunch or a cheese plate with accompaniments, we can accommodate groups of 10 or more guests. Our menus are seasonally crafted to reflect what is available on the farm and from local farmers. We encourage you to add a lunch on the farm to your tour package or corporate retreat.
To book a tour, email or call Leslie at email@example.com or 217-643-2314.
Tours are conducted RAIN OR SHINE. Please be prepared to walk around the farm; comfortable closed-toed shoes are advised. Also, we have bees on the farm to pollinate our trees and garden. We mention this so if anyone has severe allergic reactions to stings they are advised to bring their allergy medication. Also, if there are any food allergies - nuts, dairy, etc. please let Leslie know when booking the tour. We can adapt the samples accordingly.
